About the job/role
WildBrain CPLG is looking for a Commercial Director to pay a pivotal role in the commercial direction of the Germany region. Reporting to the VP of Sales, this role will oversee the relationships of our top clients across all brands and categories in Germany. You will be responsible for driving the front end of the business and setting the licensing & retail strategies for the team, establishing WildBrain CPLG at the go-to licensing agency in Germany. The ideal candidate will be a local expert on the ground, connecting cross-territory deals and will actively contribute to growing and maintaining our business to achieve long-term success.

Responsibilities
  • Act as main commercial contact for the business across all brands and categories in Germany.
  • Together with regional VPs, set and execute the Company’s licensing and retail strategies and review quarterly in planning meetings
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development and Brand Ambassadors to drive company direction to significantly increase brand licensing revenue.
  • Prepare and exceed annual forecasts through guiding commercial team and managing a portfolio of own category accounts.
  • Select Licensor account management, acting as the main point of contact and driving the commercial team to activate agreed strategies.
  • Manage and build a well-integrated sales team and support and encourage personal development.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with licensees, licensors, partners, and retailers (where appropriate).
  • Working with Head Office Product Development, overseeing the product development team, balancing licensors’ creative requirements with commercial constraints
  • Work closely with key licensees and the Retail & Marketing team to ensure strong retail distribution and identify and secure cross-promotional retail activity
  • Conduct business reviews for Licensors and leadership team
  • Collection of relevant market information, identifying market opportunities.
  • Agree on commercial team category management responsibilities with VP and review on a regular basis
Qualifications
  • Ability to build strong Brand / Licensor Relationships.
  • Able to build strong Retail / Licensee Relationships
  • Strong commercial nous - Awareness of market and category trends and drivers within the region
  • Good planning skills with the ability to plan sales focus and targets and execute strategically.
  • Collaborative approach of working with business development and other stakeholders to increase revenue.
  • Strong selling skills throughout the sales cycle.
  • Able to find solutions to challenges and be solutions orientated.
  • Support team to achieve both team and wider regional targets.
  • Coach and lead the regional commercial team.
